Kandao releases 360-degree camera QooCam 3 with larger sensors for 389 euros

Chinese manufacturer Kandao has released the QooCam 3, a 360-degree camera for action footage. The camera has two sensors of approximately 50 square millimeters for capturing photos and videos.

The sensors have a maximum resolution of 62 megapixels and an optical size of 1/1.55″. Kandao says. The larger sensors compared to the predecessors should lead to greater light sensitivity and therefore better images in dark conditions. The lens has an f/1.6 aperture. Videos can be recorded in a resolution of up to ‘5.7K’ at 30fps, while 4K images can be recorded at up to 60fps. The bit rate is a maximum of 100Mbit/s.

The camera measures 71.5×82.7×26.6mm and weighs 201g. It has a 1.9″ screen, while footage can also be accessed via an app. Customers can first shoot the footage and later choose which part of the frame they want to use. The housing has an IP68 classification for dust and dust. and waterproofing. Kandao competes with Insta360 and Ricoh in the market for 360-degree cameras. The QooCam 3 is immediately available for 389 euros in the basic version.
