Hisense, Loewe and Sharp will release products with DTS Play-Fi support this year. It is not yet known what kind of products are involved, but there are surround sound and home theater products, which will be released in both the first and second half of the year.

It will be the first products from Hisense, Loewe and Sharp to use the wireless standard. Play-Fi is a standard of DTS that allows users to wirelessly control audio devices. This is possible with a maximum of 24bit and 192kHz bitrate. It is not yet known what kind of products the manufacturers will come with, but all three manufacturers confirm in press releases that it is a surround sound product from Loewe, and Hisense is ‘home theater and audio for the whole house’.

Nothing is known about Sharp’s products yet, although FlatpanelsHD says that the manufacturer will also come up with products. Loewe would release products in the first half of the year and Hisense in the second half. Play-Fi is already supported on many other speakers and soundbars. Since last year, Philips TVs with Android TV from 2019 and 2020 also have DTS Play-Fi support. Play-Fi can be brought to existing devices with a firmware update, but the manufacturers have not yet said whether this will also happen with their existing devices.
