Xiaomi launches new devices – Redmi Note 9T and Redmi 9T
Technology company Xiaomi today launched two new Redmi smartphones: the Redmi Note 9T and Redmi 9T. The Redmi Note 9T is the first 5G smartphone in the Redmi Note series, offering affordable dual 5G SIM capabilities.
This launch is part of Xiaomi’s strategy to integrate the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) concept with 5G smartphones. Xiaomi makes 5G smartphones from entry-level to more high-end models, thus offering everyone the chance to discover the benefits of the new 5G technology. The two new models are designed to provide excellent performance and days of battery life without sacrificing photography capabilities and overall design.
Redmi Note 9T
The Redmi Note 9T is with its Dimensity 5G-integrated 800U SoC from MediaTek up to 100 percent faster than the previous generation. Together with the integrated modem, the Redmi Note 9T has a very economical power consumption with its octa-core processor and 7nm process technology.
Generation of smartphones is ready for 5G
The Redmi Note 9T further offers 5G connectivity on two SIM cards. Thanks to the 4×4 MIMO technology and antenna options, according to Xiaomi, there is always good connections, even when the network is busy. The 48MP rear camera has a 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens. Thanks to the 1⁄2-inch sensor and the ISP architecture, the image quality is better and the processing faster, thanks to tools such as Night, Pro + RAW, HDR and Portrait mode.
The design of the Redmi Note 9T has a premium look & feel with a 6.53 ”FHD + DotDisplay front and Unibody 3D curved back that offers a lot of grip. The Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 protects against damage from a fall. The device is certified for Widevine L1 and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue and can stream HD images for hours without causing eye strain. The Redmi Note 9T – with a fingerprint sensor on the side – is available in two colors: Nightfall Black and Daybreak Purple. The Redmi Note 9T is equipped with a powerful 5,000mAh (typ) battery and advanced processor technology that ensure maximum performance and efficiency in the 5G era. The smartphone offers 18W fast charging and a 22.5W charger.
Focus on photos
The Redmi 9T takes great photos thanks to its 48MP AI rear quad camera, according to Xiaomi. With the 8MP ultra-wide wide angle you can take group and landscape photos without cropping and with the 2MP macro lens and 2MP depth sensor fantastic close-ups. Furthermore, the Redmi 9T offers a new movie frame option and a new time-lapse feature.
The lightweight Redmi 9T is equipped with a 6,000mAh (typ) battery and a Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 662 chipset. In combination with the energy-efficient 11nm processor, the smartphone delivers powerful performance with lower heat production and lower energy consumption than previous generations. The Redmi 9T has a modern, minimalist design. The 6.53 ”FHD + Dot Drop display with Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 offers a clear, sharp image and protection against scratches and cracks.
Different colors
The Redmi 9T is available in four colors: Carbon Gray, Twilight Blue, Sunrise Orange and Ocean Green. This smartphone comes complete with dual SIM and expandable microSD storage up to 512 GB. The device is also equipped with infrared blaster support.
Also new: Mi Smart Clock
There is more news from the Chinese tech company. Xiaomi has also launched the Mi Smart Clock today. Packed in a compact and minimalist design, this unit fits into any room of the house. The 3.97 ” full-color touchscreen can display the time, weather, calendar and can be used as a digital photo frame. With a special Sunrise Alarm Mode, the Mi Smart Clock can gradually increase the brightness of the screen and trigger the alarm sound, making it easier for the user to wake up from sleep. With the Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in, the Mi Smart Clock acts as the home’s AIoT control and entertainment hub.
Availability of new products
The Redmi Note 9T is available in the 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB version and Redmi 9T in the 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB versions.
The Redmi Note 9T 4GB + 64GB (5G) costs € 229. The Redmi Note 9T 4GB + 128GB (5G) costs € 269. The Redmi 9T 4GB + 64GB costs € 169 and the 4GB + 128GB version costs € 199.
In the Netherlands, the Redmi Note 9T is available from January 8 to January 17 at an Early Bird via Belsimpel. The Redmi Note 9T 4GB + 64GB (5G) Early Bird will be available exclusively on Mi.com from January 8 to January 17. The official sale will also start on January 18 via Belsimpel, MediaMarkt, Coolblue, Bol.com and Mobiel.
The Mi Smart Clock, with a price of € 49.99, is available through MediaMarkt from mid-February.
