This weekend, not the usual two-weekly development build of Wine, but an update to the stable version 1.2 released in July. Wine, regular visitors to the Meuktracker know by now, is an open source implementation of the Windows api. This makes it possible to run DOS and Windows programs on Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS X, among others. The database with applications that work under Wine, with or without the help of some minor adjustments, contains 16,497 titles at the time of writing. No new features have been added in this release, but a large number of bugs have been fixed.

• Most grayscale JPEGs cause abnormal rendering artifacts in CDisplay
