Apple will soon stop selling iMac Pro

Apple stops selling the iMac Pro. The all-in-one is now only offered in a single configuration with the caveat ‘while stocks last’. Apple states that potential iMac Pro buyers will also be pleased with the 2020 iMac.

For comparison, the remaining iMac Pro has a 10-core Intel Xeon W CPU with a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz and the already discontinued models have 14 and 18 cores with similar clocks. The iMac from 2020, which according to Apple should be sufficient for many today, has a maximum of a tenth generation Intel CPU with 10 cores and a clock speed of 3.6GHz.

A look at the comparator from EveryMac.com shows that in Geekbench 5, for example, the iMac’s singlecore score is higher, but in multicore the iMac Pro maintains its lead thanks to the extra cores. Apple adds to its response that if you want a more powerful system than the iMac, there is also the Mac Pro, but that is not an all-in-one. If you still want an iMac Pro in the configuration that Apple no longer offers, you may still be able to go to other Apple points of sale.

Apple is rumored to be working on a new batch of iMacs that should be released this year. These would go from Intel processors to Apple’s own chips and the housing would be flatter, with smaller screen bezels. In addition, they would be available in multiple colors; rose gold, green and light blue variants, in addition to the more traditional silver and space gray models.
