Marshall Announces Wireless Mode II Earbuds

Marshall is launching a set of wireless earplugs with the Mode II. It is the first time that the manufacturer produces wireless earplugs. The caps come with a case to charge them. The Mode II will be released on March 18 and costs 179 euros.

The Mode II earplugs are equipped with 6 millimeter drivers and have an ipx5 rating, which means that they can withstand splashing water. The battery of the Mode II lasts for five hours and when the case is fully charged, the earbuds are charged four times. The case can be charged via USB-C and is then full in two hours, but wireless charging is also an option. The charging case has an ipx4 rating. Marshall supplies round ear tips in four different sizes, the Mode II uses bluetooth 5.1 and can handle the codecs sbc and aptX.

It is striking that the Mode II has no active noise canceling. Marshall, in his own words, focuses on the pure music lover and according to the manufacturer, he does not care about that. According to Marshall, the Mode II’s passive noise canceling is already at a decent level. The Mode II does have a transparency mode, so users can choose to let sound from the environment through.

The exterior of both earplugs is touch-sensitive, with Marshall not opting for capacitive operation, as is usual. The earplugs are pressure sensitive and according to Marshall you will even feel a slight click when you operate the earplugs. The Mode II earplugs are on sale from March 18 for 179 euros.
