Rumor: AMD will soon release compact PC without embedded Ryzen
AMD is said to be planning to present its own compact PC in the near future, similar to Intel’s NUC systems. Details are not yet known about the systems, except that they will not contain Ryzen Embedded CPUs.
FanlessTech claims that AMD’s counterpart to Intel’s NUC will appear ‘soon’ and does not mention an exact release date. The next product presentation AMD has announced will be in November. In that month at least the Ryzen 9 3950X and the first Ryzen Threadripper processors will appear.
In fact, there are already “4×4” motherboards with AMD Ryzen processors, according to FanlessTech. ASRock has announced the 4X4-R1000V, 4X4-R1000M and 4X4-V1000M. These include Ryzen Embedded CPUs. AMD’s upcoming compact PCs will get other processors, but which one is unknown.
