Render of in-ear AirPods appear in iOS beta
An image of in-ear AirPods has appeared in the Wednesday evening beta of iOS 13.2. The AirPods that Apple has made so far are not in-ear models. The appearance of the render indicates that a release is imminent.
The icon for the new AirPods is in a system folder related to accessibility settings, reports 9to5 Mac. It may be the models with built-in noise cancellation, which have been rumored for some time. Those rumors already talked about a different design and the picture seems to confirm that.
In addition, modes related to noise canceling have been found in the operating system. When enabled, iOS appears to name it “focus mode.” There are already competitors with built-in noise canceling, of which the Sony WF-1000XM3 is the best known, but Xiaomi and Amazon, among others, have already announced earphones with noise canceling.
Apple may hold another event later this month to announce new hardware: a MacBook with a new keyboard and 16-inch screen, for example, is in the pipeline, as well as updates for the current iPad Pros. Apple could leave the earphones there Last year, the manufacturer held an event at the end of October.
