Yesterday, the first beta build of Central Brain Identifier version 8.2 was released. If your computer is equipped with a beating heart from AMD, this program can tell you exactly which model it is. CBId recognizes over seventy different models and displays detailed information such as core name, revision and voltage, frequency, rating, cache and PowerNow technology. In addition, it is also able to perform some tweaks with regard to, for example, the L1 cache, the Clock Control Register, the memory timings and there is also the possibility to adjust the HyperTransport clock frequency. The release notes for this version look like this:
Central Brain Identifier 8.2.0.1 has been released! Now, CBId features a fundamentally new methodology of AMD NPT processors identification based on BrandID processor specific numbers. It uses a similar method for previous generation of the AMD64 processors, but a new one is more flexible and universal!
