8BitDo introduces wireless adjustable joystick for PC and Nintendo Switch
The company 8BitDo, best known for its controllers and other game accessories, will be releasing its Arcade Stick in October. It is a joystick in combination with a number of buttons, which can be set by players and can also be adjusted physically.
Users can easily switch between two different button settings, depending on the use of the PC or a Switch. On the basis of the 8BitDo Ultimate Software, everything can be set, such as macros and profiles.
Physically there are also a few things to adjust. For example, the 30mm and 24mm buttons can be removed and thanks to the universal joystick mounting plate can also be attached to an arcade stick from some other manufacturers. The indications at the red buttons change when the user switches from the PC to the Switch or vice versa.
The Arcade Stick has support for bluetooth 4.0 and 2.4GHz WiFi via a built-in receiver. Switching between these wireless connection techniques is done via a special slide. It is also possible to connect the Arcade Stick with the supplied USB-C cable. This is also needed to charge the 1000mAh battery, which has to last for 40 hours via WiFi and 30 hours via Bluetooth.
The device measures 300x203x111.5mm, weighs 2.1kg and appears to be released in the US only. The Arcade Stick can be pre-ordered on Amazon for $ 90 and the release date is October 20.
