505 Games buys rights to Ghostrunner game for five million euros
Publisher All In Games has sold the rights to its Ghostrunner game to co-publisher 505 Games. 505 Games has paid five million euros for this. All in Games still gets a portion of the revenue from sales of the game.
All In Games CEO Piotr Żygadło told Gamesindustry.biz that 505 Games already tried to take over the intellectual property of the game before release. However, the publisher was then “unwilling to pay the amount” All In Games expected. Ghostrunner quickly proved to be a huge success, convincing 505 Games to make an offer. The five million euros will be invested in his company, according to Żygadło. All In Games will release 20 games this year.
Ghostrunner is a cyberpunk themed parkour slasher game. The game was released in October 2020. The 2.5 million euros in production costs were already earned back on the day of release. By the end of 2020, 500,000 copies of the game had been sold. All In Games says it expects sales to reach a million copies later this year.
The game is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Next-gen versions of the game will be released later this year. Ghostrunner will also be released this year for Amazon’s Luna game streaming service. There will also be three DLC packs later.
