343 Industries Expands Halo Insiders Program to Windows
The Halo Insiders program, which developer 343 Industries uses to test early versions of its Halo games, has been extended to Windows. The developer will test the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection via this route.
Interested parties can apply through the Halo Waypoint website. To be eligible to test the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, gamers must collect information about their PC using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool and submit it. Potential testers should also link their Steam account to their Microsoft account.
The Halo Insiders program has been around for some time for Xbox games. The program previously optimized the console version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection by allowing users to test and provide feedback. 343 Industries now wants to do the same with the PC version.
Last week it was announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is coming to Windows PCs. That’s a collection of Halo games, and many of those games are now coming to PC for the first time. Microsoft and 343 Industries are not going to release the different games all at once, they appear in chronological order.
This staggered release was chosen to give the development teams the opportunity to properly convert each title for the PC. It is therefore plausible that testing via the Halo Insider program will also be phased per game. It is not known how many registrations are actually accepted to test the games.
