Publisher 2K Games has announced that Borderlands 2 is in development. Gearbox Software is again responsible for the development of the game, which will be released sometime after April 1, 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Borderlands 2 is in development, 2K Games reports. It has been rumored for some time that a sequel to 2009’s Borderlands was in the works, now that Gearbox has completed work on Duke Nukem Forever. The shooter with RPG elements will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in fiscal year 2013 of 2K, meaning an as-yet-unknown date after April 1, 2012.
2K Games does not reveal much about the content of the game. The publisher promises new characters, enemies, skills, weapons and equipment, which will be found in new and unexplored regions of the planet Pandora. 2K Games will be showing the game at the Gamescom trade show, which will be held August 17-21.
