‘2K comes with ‘Marvel XCOM’ from Firaxis and shows new Borderlands at E3′
According to game journalist Jason Schreier, Firaxis is working on an XCOM-style game, but with Marvel superheroes, and Gearbox is showing a new Borderlands spinoff at E3. There is also information about ‘Codename Volt’ and NBA2K22.
The news first came out in the form of a Reddit post, but was then taken down by game journalist Schreier, who writes for Bloomberg, confirmed. The new XCOM-style game is being developed by the same studio that has been developing the XCOM games since 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown. ready.
The fact that a new Borderlands game was on the way was already known in itself: that was confirmed last month, including release period of ‘before April 2022’. The Reddit poster now comes with some more info. The game could be called Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, after a trademark that has been registered. Again there would be multiple playable characters, but this time with ‘multiple classes’ per character. According to the Reddit post, the reveal can be expected during E3.
The poster also talked about showing NBA 2K22 and ‘Codename Volt’ at the fair. The latter would be an action game, described as ‘Cthulhu mixed with Saints Row’. Cthulhu probably implies supernatural horror and Saints Row is an open world game.
2K parent company Take-Two Interactive will host an E3 press conference at 5pm on June 14. These can be followed via livestream.
Update, 12:27 PM: not all games will be shown during E3, the sources say. That can only be expected from Borderlands. The article has been updated with this information.
