20th Century Fox posts teaser for, among other things, new Alien game
The official Alien-Twitter account has posted a teaser that refers to Amanda Ripley, among others the main character of the horror game Alien: Isolation from 2014. The text ‘read, play, look’ suggests that multimedia unpacking is taking place.
The teaser isn’t the first move on the front lines of a potential new Alien game. In November of last year, 20th Century Fox already registered the brand name Alien: Blackout. It is also known that development studio ColdIron is working on an Alien game for Fox. That’s a different studio than Creative Assembly, which provided Alien: Isolation. It is also already known that the new Alien game will be an online shooter.
Amanda Ripley was not originally conceived for Alien: Isolation. The character was featured in the 1986 film Aliens. In it, she would be the daughter of Aliens figurehead Ellen Ripley, but her scene was not in the final theatrical film. This scene was later added to the Special Edition.
The teaser ends with the text “coming soon”. game journalist Geoff Keighley hinted at it that an Alien announcement would be made at The Game Awards on December 6, but it never materialized. Perhaps soon what was originally planned for last month will be shown.
In addition to this teaser, Fox has another put online, albeit with no concrete information either, except for the year 2019
